Wow, What a day already!

So many things to process. First was Church. It was Pastor Neal's last service in that church. We have 5 pastors in the church and Pastor Neal was the Pastor of prayer and discipleship. When he came he started the Ezra 5 Team which is a group of trained individuals that counsel and pray with others. Pastor Neal has answered the Lord's calling and going to Custer South Dakota to plant a church. Meanwhile, last week his wife of 35 years was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully it is a stage zero and she has surgery on Tuesday but in the meantime we will still be praying for them.

It was sad to see Pastor Neal give his sermon. It was a great one as usual but so emotional knowing it was his last one. I think I cried throughout the last half of it. He is such a wonderful God loving man who has taught my family so much. Dwyane and I are both sad to see him go but we do know that he is following God's will. Now he can go out and bless others and not just us at Faith.

Meanwhile at church while I am processing the fact that Neal and Debbie are really leaving ... Isaiah asked Jesus into his heart. He asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior. WOW! What a blessing it is to be his mom. Dwyane was grinning from ear to ear when Isaiah told him.

As we were walking out of Church, a lady stopped me with a large smile on her face saying HI! I looked at her confusingly I am sure - she laughed at the look on my face. It was Sheila! The Sheila who I had the honor with of seeing her bring one of her daughters into this world. The Sheila who used to live right down the street from me once a upon a time. She moved to Germany and then who knew since then and has been in Sioux Falls for three and a half years. We lost contact when she went to Germany and now of all places we find each other again in CHURCH! God is so good :) I guess I expected her girls to be the same age as they were the last time I saw her - 6 years ago. The baby that I saw delivered into this world is now 7!! Her other daughter who Allison prayed for so many times is now 11 and doesn't remember Allison! LOL Allison prayed for Jordan's safety so many times and she was able to see that prayer come true and tell her friend how often she was prayed for. Her oldest daughter Jessie is now 15 and looking like a YOUNG LADY. Wow I feel old. And to top that off she had another baby..... Evelyn is almost 2.. and then...... she has a surprise - another bun in the oven. It was so AWESOME to see her again. We exchanged phone numbers with the promise we would catch up soon.

It was almost like seeing a season end and another one starting - all before I left church. While I am so sad to see Pastor Neal leave I had the pleasure of seeing my son come to Christ and a long lost friend come back into my life. Yeah God! While one door closes in life another one surely does open.

Blessings to all and Happy New Year to everyone!

Pedicures Anyone?

Allison has read all of her books that she got for Christmas plus one I picked for her up at the library so we trotted over there to get some more. On the way out the door D told Alli that she could give him a pedicure when she got back complete with pink toenail polish (her request on the color). She sure did remember on the way back - she got all her tools out. We got daddy a tub of soapy water with Epsom Salts in it and he got a pedicure.

After Dwyane came Isaiah.. he is now sporting some blue toenail polish.

Now Dad has decided to give his little girl a pedicure. She is currently soaking her feet. I hear that I am next and D is also going to do mine :)

Oh and we changed the color to red for Dwyane to match his red jammies but he just promised his daughter if she took of the polish he would do the pedicure. The polish lasted all of 3 hours.

Please say a Prayer

Please pray for my very dear friend Dawn. Her father passed away this evening. Her husband and children are all here in South Dakota but her husband is going down to Chicago tomorrow to be with her. Her children will not have either parent to spend Christmas Day with :-( Grandma and a family friend will be taking care of the kids. Please pray for safety as they travel as well as for peace in the situation. Also, Dawn has been recently diagnosed with the same thing her father had (something having to do with the heart) so please pray for her health as well.

Thank you!

What are you doing this Saturday?

We aren't doing much around here. The morning was started off with sleeping in til 9:00am when Kristofer's pillow that he had forgotten at a sleepover arrived then.

I have been caught up in a book since last night and finally finished it. Karen Kingsbury's "Family". I would put in a link but have no clue how.. maybe sometime I will. I am now currently reading "Sisterchicks in Sombreros" by Robin Jones Gunn. Kim - if you read this check out this series - you will get a kick out of it. The first Sisterchick book I read was "Sisterchicks Do The Hula". My friend Karla introduced me to the series and they are books that you will laugh out loud too.

Another wonderful book by my favorite author, Karen Kingsbury, is called "Divine" a contermporary story of Mary Magadeline. I highly recommend that one.

I officially started a week off of work. I haven't had a full week off of work since 2004! Dwyane took the week off with me and the only thing I had on my 'honey do list' for him to do was wash the dog. The dog really does NOT like taking baths or even going out in the rain. Go figure! But at least his ears aren't crunchy anymore!

Do you realize that we live in South Dakota and we have NO snow. In fact the grass is trying to turn GREEN! The weather people promised this big winter storm coming.. freezing drizzle and then rain. We got rain and only a slight freezing drizzle which I am completely thankful for and then the weather forecast said snow after 11:00am yesterday. NO SNOW. We haven't had but a sprinkling of snow all winter. I want a WHITE Christmas - looks like Denver got their snow, our snow and then some. This week would be a wonderful week to be snowed in :) I would be home... the kids could play outside... the dog could frolic with the kids... and I could keep warm in the house making hot chocolate for the kiddies.

Ok I am running out of thoughts to put down in writing. I thought of something the other day but wouldn't you know it - I didn't write it down and therefore forgot it.

Adios Everyone!

The other day his 8 year old told him he was gross because he had a peanut butter, jelly, and bologna sandwich! Ewwww... again. Do your spouses have weird eating habits????

Somebody Stop Me...

One of the gifts we got from our little Sunday School girls is SOOOOOOO yummy. It is like a fudge/candy type thing with crushed peppermints in it and then we have chocolate sauce for dipping. D just had to give me a taste of it. I am really going to have to get that recipe - it is SOOOOOOOOOOO yummy. I love mint and chocolate.

Another quiet Sunday here and I am watching yet another Christmas movie - this is the one where Santa's daughter goes to help a widower and his family - widower played by John Dye formally the Angel of Death on Touched By An Angel. Last night D actually turned to a movie and watched it... oh yeah.... a chick flick - it was rather quite good. Maybe he will give up those violent movies he likes to watch yet? I really am disgusted by some of the movies they show on tv. Remember the days when we were young and you wouldn't hear a cuss word nor see a PG-13 movie on tv? They were all family friendly. What happened to those days? The only time you can see many of those movies is around Christmas time.

Kristofer came back from a sleepover this morning. I think it is odd to have one on Satuday but it was for one of his best friends. He had 6 and a half hours of sleep and I just sent him downstairs for a good long nap. He is cranky... constantly pestering his brother and sister - he needs a nap!

I have one more week of work before I am off work for a week. YEAH :) I haven't had a week off of work since 2004!!! We aren't planning on doing anything but hanging around the house and just enjoying being together. D asked for that week off as well as he has 120 hours of vacation time to use up.

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday!

What a man :)

I come home from work and my house is all nice and clean :) I commented on how clean it was and D said.. "all you need to do tonight is take a warm bath, put your feet up and watch one of your girlie shows'. YEAH!! Granted.. HE is going out to a work Christmas party and gets dinner out (hey the kids and I are getitng take out so no cooking for me) and won't be home til later but I love having the house clean when I come home. What a guy :)

Ok - I LOVE to watch the Hallmark Channel this time of year. I love ALL their Christmas movies. D rolls his eyes at me EVERY year because of my chick flick affection :) Well ... he is in denial for he watches them WITH me and ENJOYS them despite the eye rolling. Allison gave him so much crap last night becasue he had his head faced towards the computer and his eyes were on the tv watching. We even caught him snickering! Busted! Yeah he complains about my chick flicks but he enjoys them just as I do :) He does have a completely soft side - he used to tear up when Touched By An Angel would be on - that used to be OUR show.

Anyhow - I am off to get the kids something to eat so I can come home and take my bubble bath with my Sweet Pea Bath Gel from Bath and Body Works and then put my feet up and relax.

Enjoy the wonderful Friday evening!

As soon as we locate the battery charger for the digital camera I will take more pics. We have a suspicion it is 'lost' in Kristofer's bedroom but we are waiting for him to head to a friend's house for a sleepover on Saturday night so we can investigate.

Is it the Weekend yet??

What a night! I guess it all started with my headache that I have had since this afternoon. I came home to fix dinner and make two double batches of brownies. Wouldn't you know it - I missed doubling the butter in one pan but did catch it at the last minute so that was A-ok. However, when I took the fabulously smelling brownies out of the oven it slipped out of my hand but I caught it in time for my huge hot pad to make a dent in it. It is still ok though since one pan was at home and the other was going to be split up between Allison's Middle School Christmas Party and lunch at Bible Study Fellowship for the girls tomorrow.

Ok - headache still there and kitchen a wreck. Isaiah calls me from the bathroom - he ran out of hot water. I didn't think anything of it since he was in the shower upstairs and Kristofer was in the shower downstairs and the dishwasher just finished. That was at 7:45. It is now 9:15 and I still don't have any hot water and I have dishes to wash and I really would like to take a shower tomorrow morning.. grrrr...

Ok so then I get a phone call... my BIL Tito from Ohio. I sure do miss those BIL's of mine - they really are the best inlaws - even my mother in law and father in law :) Anyhow... T calls and says that their cousin (more like a nephew because he is so much younger than us) was robbed at gun point. Whoever it was broke into D's grandma's (nicest sweetest lady) house and took all the cousins money. Grandma went to sleep at one of her daughters for a few days. This is going to bug D to no end since we live up here and there isn't much he can do but pray from up here.

Anyhow - one last bit of news for my night - Alli and Isaiah's heat doesn't work on that side of the house - this will be the third time this winter it has happened... another grrr..

Well D just came home so gotta go break the news to him.

Allison requested I put a picture up of the biggest baby in the house. Here is Avery.

Can you tell What Dwyane's favorite team is?!!

Quiet Sunday

It is a quiet Sunday around here. Dwyane decided he needed a nap so has been in the bed since noon. He has a problem staying asleep at night and was awake at about 2am this morning and he stays awake for about 3 hours and then goes back to sleep for a couple of hours. If anyone has any suggestions on how he can stay asleep they would be most appreciated. I know he takes a 1/2 a Tylenol PM and is reluctant to take more because he is so sensitive when he takes medicines.

The kids have been playing together very well down in the basement. It is so rare that they are actually playing together and getting along! It is nice to hear them down there.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous Sunday!!

Miracle on Main Street

That was the name of the kids Christmas Program tonight and they did a fabulous job!! Isaiah even behaved very well considering he was standing next to the boy who usually is the instigator of them being just plain boys!

Kristofer was the stage manager. When they told him he had to come out and stomp his foot and yell his part he proceeded to tell them "My mom says we don't yell in God's House". That's MY boy!!! He DOES listen some of the time :)

We came home to a dog who barfed all over the place so now Dwyane is busy shampooing the carpets. Gotta love that man!

Merry Christmas Everyone! Remember... JESUS is the REASON for the SEASON!
Confession Time

I have an anal husband. While he is not anal about all things he is anal about some things and I am sure I will hear about it should he read this blog LOL I do love him dearly but the rug has to be lined up just right on the floor, his clothes hung up just right in his closet, he loves a picture perfect house in terms of cleanliness which he doens't get with three kids around, he has to have a clean car, etc. One thing I have admired about him is his closet. His clothes are arranged so that his suits hang together, his pants, shirts, etc. My clothes are just hung up - it didn't matter where they were hung - just as long as they were hung. Well today I did it. My closet matches his :) I even purged 25 articles of clothing... flylady would be proud :) Now on to the carpet which is another thing he is anal about - he would love for it to be vacuumed everyday and since we have missed a few days it is time to vacuum.

I kind of am enjoying this blog thing!

Oh a funny - when I picked up the kids from choir practice Isaiah says "Mom when we have practice for two hours my legs get sore" he is now 'resting' watching a movie. I hate to see the child with a job!!

The one that has changed the most in terms of appearance is Alli. Here is a pic the day she got it professionally relaxed for the first time. Exuse the big ole T-Shirt she is wearing - she was heading to bed but I really wanted a pic taken of her hair all done up before she decided not to do it anymore :)

Here is an old pic of us:

This was taken by my dear Aunt Joanne with her snazy camera. She always takes really good pictures :)

I should probably introduce myself first don't ya think?

I am Angie - mom to three great kids: Alli (6th grade), Kris (5th grade), and Zaih(2nd grade). Married to the love of my life Dwyane. We have one baby of a puppy, Avery. Avery is a chocoalte lab (deep brown color) and just turned 2 years old last Thursday. We are currently residing in South Dakota.

The kids are keeping us busy this weekend. This is the weekend of the church Christmas Program. Kristofer is the stage manager this year and is very excited. Today is going to be spent be booping them between church and home. Right now the boys are at church for practice and then the program will be this afternoon as well as tomorrow afternoon.

Alli is spending this time catching up on her favorite cartoons while our youngest baby, Avery the 80lb chocolate lab, occasionally joins her in the recliner. Who knew that such a huge dog would love to be a lap dog?

I am busy getting laundry going and the house cleaned up. It is amazing how much stuff you accummulate around the house when you aren't diligent for one day to put it all away before you head to bed. Never fear it will get done as it irritates me to no end to see clutter. The sink is nicely soaking in bleach so that should be nice and shiny and the counters all got bleached. Now on to the dining room table but I must first complete my bible study before it gets completely cleaned off.

It is a GORGEOUS day here in South Dakota. Hardly a breeze and it is supposed to be 53 degrees outside - the perfect weather to go on lots of walks with the dog. Hopefully the kids will get outside today and enjoy it too.

Well I am off to switch laundry around. Dwyane upgraded me from my old washer and dryer and while it was relatively new I returned it to get an upgrade because it wasn't draining right and we already had the bearings replaced on the dryer and it wasn't 6 months old. Thank God for warranties :) The new set is still a front loader but it has controls for multiple water temps and dryer temps. I love all the new bells and whistles and it allows me to get laundry caught up in now time. Plus I only have to use a half of a cap of HE laundry detergent due to the water softener. Gotta love saving anywhere we can! Kids don't come cheap!

More to post later. Maybe next weekend when life isn't so busy I will take time and figure out how to change the design. There are many pretty blogs out there and I would love to change the colors but alas.. life is too busy right now and other things must be first before I figure out how to change the design.

Til then, welcome to my first ever blog. Hopefully it will give friends as well as family a chance to keep updated on our lives.
Well here I am. I figured it was time for me to create a blog of my own since I spend so much time reading other blogs. We shall see if I can figure this thing out or not. I might have to ask my dear friend Dorian for support as at least she knows how to change hers around. Me? I know how to type here and that is about it!
